Liberty Machine & Tool Factory Automation
With decades of manufacturing experience, we can convert, repair, improve, and create factory automation systems. We understand the "big picture" and take a long term view. Below we document our most recent conversion (December 2009).
The Machine is a FMC Filler PDF-1000-20 it has 54 oz per stroke and 20 cylinders.
It was originally set up to fill 16 oz glass jars and we converted the machine to instead fill #10 cans (106 oz in volume). To achieve the increase in fill volume we needed to use two cylinders per can, a radical change in functionality which normally would have required the purchase of a new machine.
This work took over one month to make prints and design tooling for the machine, and about three weeks to fabricate all of the components for the changes. We are very proud of this job which was done for a major food producer in Central New York.
